All those sounds and voices
The Adventurers
Maria Bartholdi
Maria is an improviser, Emmy Award winning videographer, producer and editor, and esports commentator. When not playing some bizarre kind of creature on Break the Dice, she can be found as one of the cohosts of Good Luck High Five, a Magic the Gathering podcast. In her free time, she enjoys painting, playing board games and writing musicals. And making dirty jokes. Especially making dirty jokes.
Tyler Michaels King
Tyler is a Twin Cities based theater artist and improviser, and is the founding Artistic Director of Trademark Theater. He has worked and played with the Guthrie Theater, The Ordway, Theater Latté Da, Children’s Theater Company, Hennepin Theater Trust, History Theatre, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Illusion Theater, HUGE Theater, Live Action Set, and Artistry, among many others. Tyler is also a founding member of The Bearded Company. He holds the 2014 Emerging Artist Ivey Award, the Mark Twain Prize for Comic Performance from the Kennedy Center National ACT Festival, and was named “Artist of the Year” by City Pages. Allen Voigt
Allen is a Dungeon Master who works full time in Biologics Manufacturing. When not working or playing DnD you can find him streaming some Pretty Good Stories late at night as PrettyGoodStories on Twitch.tv. He loves collaborative storytelling, especially with this party. When playing, he loves calling his god-like powers down upon his poor players. When Allen enters the tavern, he avoids adventurers (There is a high likelihood that they might steal from, and/or murder him).
MJ Marsh
MJ is an improviser, standup comic, and bartender extraordinaire. He likes pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. As Phaelan Maerdock his favorite thing to attempt is casting Tiny Hut (or just doing a good ‘ol fashioned Cartwheel). Phaelan would walk into a tavern and offer to buy a round of drinks for everyone there if any among them could beat him at a game of “Knife in Wall”
Tyler Mills
Tyler is a playwright and improviser living in Minneapolis. He joined The Bearded Company in 2010. He wrote the book for the musical Jonah and the Whale that premiered to sold out audiences in the Guthrie Theater’s Dowling Studio and is Artistic Associate and Resident Playwright for Trademark Theater in Minneapolis.
Joe Rapp
Joe is an actor, improviser, graphic designer, writer, and unknown local celebrity. He is one of the co-founders of The Bearded Company and enjoys a good poop joke far too much. As his main player character, Adramire Moloch, he acts far too often before he thinks and his favorite abilities are called shot or stealth. When he enters Martha’s Mead, he drink three ales in three minutes, then see if anyone wants to play some Circles and Squares.
Jack Barrett
Jack has been improvising music with The Bearded Company since 2013. A wide variety of music can be heard in Jack Barrett’s compositions. Throughout his life, he has explored avenues of classical, progressive rock, metal and jazz. All of which have left their permanent mark on his sound. Raised in the Twin Cities, Barrett studied in the northern wilderness of St. John’s University where he earned a degree in piano performance. Intense rhythms and rich harmonies dominate Barrett’s compositions, marked by concise and dynamic solos. With each new work he builds around a single concept, whether it is a rhythmic or harmonic motif or simply a feeling. Expanding from this, he crafts the song into a sprawling extrapolation, adding and transforming until the original idea is woven into every part of the music.

Fantasy Fun. UnForgettable!
Sylak
Break the Dice is a marriage of fantasy roleplaying and theatrical improv. There are other podcasts that have used this approach, like One Shot. The thing that sets BtD apart is the commitment to the theatricality, with less of an emphasis on the game mechanics. As a result, the show feels more like a narrative podcast with the surprise elements of die rolls organically thrown in. Performances by committed actors sell every moment, and A+ sound design makes it really immersive. Try it out.
